How To Create A Video Sharing Website Like YouTube With WordPress

YouTube is a great community/resource for watching videos. It's a great video sharing website, where you will find videos related to all possible niches.

Like: videos for movie tailors, songs, sports or tutorial videos.

Having said, you can target your YouTube like website for these possible niches.

For example, a video sharing website for:

  • Watching Movie Tailors Online
  • Sports Videos
  • Video Songs
  • Education Tutorials

How to create website Like YouTube ?

There are many options available on the internet to create a video sharing website like YouTube.com

1. You can search for video sharing scripts online: Yes, there are sites, that provide video sharing scripts to create a site like YouTube.

Remember the sites offer paid scripts.
Is it a good option?

It looks good and is a kind of shortcut to create your YouTube site, but I won't prefer you to go with it.

There are reasons:

  • These scripts are outdated already and have limitations.
  • Even if you buy one of them, you need to tech savvy, to further edit the scripts, which is challenging, for a newbie and time consuming at the same time.

2. You can create video website like YouTube with Joomla, WordPress

Joomla is a good platform but not better than WordPress.

My Favorite is WordPress, because I have been working on it for the last years and I have seen users creating video sharing websites easily with this excellent CMS (content management system) tool.

More to come....

Why Google Is Taking So Much Time To Scan My Blog Post ?

Do you know how Google scans your post (or your website page)..?

Whenever you publish something new or update your website, your changes are not instantly updated in Google search results. It takes time.

And you can't be sure how much time Google will take..

But some factors from your end are responsible due to which Google is making it late.

We are gonna head on to them.

But before that...

Extra tip -

To check whether Google has scanned your post, just follow these simple steps... (may be you never tried it before).

1. Go to Google.com (specially prefer Google.com for searching since we all need most of the traffic from other countries..)

2. Copy the URL of the post and paste it in between "" in Google search engine.. Something similar to this...

In this image you see the drop down symbol that will take you to the cached (scanned page version) by Google.

On top you can see the last date and time when Google bots crawled your page.

This way you can make sure whether your updates have been really deployed or not.

Now let's get to our major concern...

Factors Responsible For Delay in Scanning

1. If You've Got a Very New Site

Late scanning is mostly observed in case of new websites.

If your concern is regarding the case of a new website, then don't worry.

Tip - Take a chill pill for at least 2-3 months. Your concern would be resolved soon.

If you start giving new content to Google on a regular basis, it will scan your site content more often.

2. If Your Site is a Rich Source of Duplicate/Poor Quality Content

Whether it is duplicacy within your site or content seems to have been copied from any other website, if duplicate content is there, Google doesn't seem to be happy with scanning websites very often.

Same if seem to have managed a nice article by smartly improvising content already available at various different sources, you can make another mess.

Tip - Make sure your website appears to be the original source of that content even if you publish something which is quite popular. Try to make difference even in blog format and presentation.

You can take help of some tool to check the percentage of uniqueness in your content.

3. If You Do Not Update Your Website Regularly

Google loves websites that update regularly. Also, those pages of a website are scanned more often which are updated more as compared to other pages on the same site.

Tip - Keep producing good content on regular basis so that Google gets habitual of sending its bots to crawl your site or page.

4. It May Also Depend On Your Alexa Rank

Sites ranking on top get their pages scanned very instantly and more often. As we go down to the bottom of the ranking, Google even takes several weeks to crawl websites.

If you are somewhere in between, you can estimate the time accordingly and make sure time taken by Google bots to was not unjustified.

Tip - Bring some SEO tactics into practice to improve your Alexa Rank. Find more sources of traffic, and build some backlinks from high ranking websites to get reputation in the eyes of Google.

Is that so..??

Blogging is the art of expressing yourself online and on your journey of grooming this art, you may experience a great impact on your life.

Today many bloggers find their interest in blogging field and making good money online… (the prior one reason to blog)

Day-to-day blogging can change the way you look at different aspects of life and also the way you look up to yourself.

Even if you are a newbie, it doesn't mean you can’t setup a blog..

No matter whether a hot trend topic is written 100 times…

If you could bring uniqueness to your content and write it for 101th time, it will become hot again… (depends how you produce that stuff)

Blogging is not a rocket science, it’s about being yourself, and putting what you have into it." BloggersDog…:)

I personally feel there is a great impact of blogging in my life.

And not just I, every single person who starts blogging, experience the same.
But most of us are too busy to notice them.

If you haven’t noticed the changes in you ever since you blogging then let me put some points here (eight relevant ones) and I am sure at the end, somewhere you will find a trace of these qualities in you.

Or if you are a newbie, take these points as an inspiration to start blogging J

1. Blogging makes you a better communicator

Writing is communication. Once you start writing blogs, you learn how to express your thoughts.

With every single line you get a step closer to being a better communicator.

Blogging doesn't demand to be hard on yourself for effective writing, it will just happen as you do it.

Every single thought you pen down will open the door of thoughts for your readers.

2. Blogging makes you disciplined

Blogging requires a lot of time, commitment, patience and discipline.

With blogging, you automatically inculcate these habits in you which slowly make you more organized and disciplined in your life.

No wonder these are the qualities one must embrace in life and blogging just makes it easier for you.

3. You become a thinker

Every time you sit for writing, your thinking process gets deeper and better.

To communicate your thoughts you start looking things with wider perspectives and you eventually become a thinker.

When you complete one blog, you eventually start thinking about the next, and the process goes on with your passion to write.

The best part of blogging is that, it’s in your thoughts that people delve and look for their answers.

4. You’ll become more social

Being social doesn't always mean to attend parties, gatherings, functions or hangouts.

You will meet new people online, through comments, e-mails, and social media.

Every person you meet has something to teach you and equally to learn from you.

This gives you an excellent opportunity to learn and share your knowledge.

Blogging is a friendly platform, where you will find many like-minded people.

5. You’ll become more confident

Blogging help you reach millions of people.

Some may agree with your thoughts and some may not.

But in both cases you have led an impact on people and in this whole process you will discover that you have your own unique thoughts and knowledge to share and offer to people which will make you feel more confident.

6. You’ll become a learner

Blogging urges you to read and remain updated about everything going around and slowly you develop this habit which will turn you into a great learner.

Even if it’s a criticism about your post or any suggestions, you will always have something to learn from.

Every single suggestion and comments open up a challenge in front of you to take a fresh new look at the topic and helps you take a different ride of perspectives.

7. Blogging keeps you oriented

Every time you sit to articulate your thoughts, you stop and filter out from various events and topics and choose the best to write.

Obviously you can’t write about everything and so, you start becoming choosy and go with the one more meaningful to your audience and this process helps you in being more oriented with whatever you think and write.

Also, you will have a goal in your mind from now and that would be to bring up something new and innovative to your readers.

8. You’ll become an optimist

Every positive feedback you get drives you more positivity and cheerfulness.

This simple act of writing will bring you more happiness than any other thing.

You won’t believe how people will turn into your followers and slowly you will start being their inspiration.

But what if there are negative comments?

No, you don’t lose heart.

If you are a passionate blogger, you will learn from every negative thing and grow into more optimistic person than ever before.

You will start being a more balanced human.

Once you start writing and give shape to your thoughts, you will start thinking about solutions rather than problems.

You will start thinking more about your life, about who you are, and what you have to offer people around you.

You become a selfless giver.

And the happiness it drives is an inspiration to write more and share more.

After all, Blogging is all about being yourself. :)

PS – Don’t think about the SEO of this post.. I know that I haven’t made any backlinks to this one(not a SEO geek)…

Conclusion

Since it’s an inspirational post, so I only put all the relevant points that can answer your question - why you should blog?

Or how a newbie should encourage himself for blogging.

May be this post lacks behind some examples, but I can assure you to come with some effective example and even I will frequently update this post in coming days..

Stay tuned and keep blogging.. :)

How To Resolve Bare Domain Issue In Blogger ?

When I started my blog at Blogger, I never heard about the bare domain.

After few days of my start, some people approached me and told me that my site was giving a 404 error  (which usually happen if bare domain doesn't work).

It looks something like this -

error
On an average, per day I lost 10 visitors and it continued for 10 days until I came to know about the issue. That calculate it down to100 visitors on average which really matters when your blog is at initial level.

If you have also started your blog in Blogger by setting up theCustom URL, you might have forgot to take care of the bare domain. That could be a negative sign for your website (as I said, it affects search engine traffic).

Let's take an insight on what's bare domain?

Bare Domain or Naked Domain

A bare domain (also termed as naked domain) is the URL on the address bar without having a prefix "www".

For example, if you have a website called "www.abc.com" then its bare domain would be "abc.com"

So now, if you start a blog at Blogger then it should open with both the URLS, either with the full domain name or with the bare domain.

Now, What If I Don't Fix it? What Negative Impact It Will Have?

You cannot expect the visitors to type the whole website address on browser to visit your website every time.

They might use the keywords to search it or might just use bare domain.

If you haven't paid attention towards it then it might count as negative because it will make users think that your site is not active or its down.

Why I am Saying This Is Important?? Does It Affect Rank?

This is important because it cut down the traffic. I mean somebody is not going to type the whole website address in browser like www.bloggersdog.com

People may use bare domain (bloggersdog.com), which might make them think that the site is not active if the issue is not resolved.

How To Resolve it?

Follow this simple process and resolve the issue.
  • Just log in to your domain registrar website for eg. Godaddy.com
  • Click on domains.
  • Click on launch.
  • Choose the domain that you are using on blogger for your website.
  • As soon as you check mark or select your domain, you will see the Forward option activated on tool bar.

  • Click on forward and then on forwarding domains.

  • Click on Add new one now.
  • Now forward your domain to www.bloggersdog.com using 301 permanent redirection and select type as forward with masking.
  • Click on Sub-domain. For the first time you will see the following message.

  • Click on Add sub-domain forwarding.
  • Write the sub-domain name and the domain where you want to forward. Choose the type as Forward only.
  • And save the changes.

It won't be resolved immediately as most of the server site issues and DNS related issue takes time to propagate so after few hours it will be resolved.

Conclusion

It’s good to take care of basics at the initial level because it helps to gain traffic from organic search.

I used the process for GoDaddy here because I have BloggersDog registered on GoDaddy. In case if you are using other domain registrars, the process will be the same.

Hope this tutorial helps you to resolve naked/bare domain issue for your website. :)

Let me know if you have any doubts or need any help.

Misconceptions That You Should Always Avoid To Start Your Business Website

Though we too had misconceptions before starting BloggersDog but it proved only delaying factor for us to get started.

But that’s common. It happens if you are a non-techie and don’t know much about how to start.

So, are you in a dilemma of how to get started?

Got some mind staggering thoughts like “What you gonna do with your website”?

May be you can think like- "I won’t be able to do business with a website. I don’t know anything about internet".

At the end if you get frustrated by trying so many things, you will conclude- “Let’s just drop this idea..it won’t work”

All these misconceptions are foolish. Seriously, they won’t encourage you to initiate the proceedings.

Ultimately you step back from your objective.

The story doesn't end here. There are plenty of dilemmas that people normally have before they come online with their business website, like-

  • ·       How much will it cost to start a business website? Who’s gonna build it?
  • ·       What about coding skills?
  • ·       “Domain”?? What is it???
  • ·       What about the Designing part (interface of the website)? Who’s gonna handle that?

Luckily if you know about the above ones, there is still one obstacle left, i.e. hosting services. What is it?

All these doubts will kill your idea that you have for your business and will never let you execute something that can lead you to happy and independent life.

Let's keep things simple.

Since I have already cut down those craps and things are pretty much cleared for us, I decided to write this post and cut all those shitty craps that you people generally have before executing your plans or ideas, without knowing that it is really simple to setup.

You cannot imagine at the start, what future does this online world hold for you.

This post is for all those people (newbie) that are still waiting to execute their websites or want to take their hobbies or interest to an online mode (a business website).

I hope following points will encourage you to get rid of those early mind boggling situations/thoughts that are good for nothing.

Let's face it.

Basics About Domain, Hosting Services & Designing

I am not gonna talk about internet part because that is something which you can learn and practice by simply playing around with keyboard and mouse.

Even if you devote 10 to 15 minutes per day you will learn things as quickly as you learn Facebook. J

Domain- To make it simple as ABCD, just tell me- have you ever typed something like- www.facebook.com on your Chrome browser or any other browser? (Also called a URL when added with a prefix http:// like- http://www.facebook.com)

That particular URL of Facebook is a domain.

A domain is always unique for individual website. It could be taken as .com, .in, .net.

--> .com domain is for commercial purpose (mainly for business).
--> .in is for Indian websites.
--> .org is for non-profit organizations.
--> .net is for  organizations involved in networking technologies, such as Internet service providers and other infrastructure companies.

So when you are going to start your website you need to have your own domain.

It could be .com if you want to start a commercial website or it could be .in as well.

Just to let you know, when I purchased the domain for BloggersDog, I bought both .com and .in, keeing .in for future usage.

Hosting- Take it as you got things for yourself like chairs, tables, laptop for your office.

So what you need to place all these things?

Obviously you need some space.

Similarly, hosting services provides a space for your website where you can manage your website data.

Remember- Hosting is not necessary to start a website.
You always have the option to save your money and start your website easily.

Like I started BloggersDog with Blogger by adding the domain as custom URL.

Designing- Designing is something that provides looks to your website. All the designing part is handled in Photoshop. PSD's are generated for templates first (i.e. interface of website) and then these are coded to make it dynamic.

But you don't need to worry about it and no need to hire a designer.

There are various templates available on web that are completely free and you can simply download one for your website and use it.

If you site is on Blogger, then for free themes you can go to Soratemplatesmybloggerthemes. There you can find free amazing themes for your website.

Just to let you know, I use Keilir theme for BloggersDog. I spent not a penny on it and no designer involved. J

Once you have expertise and know do’s and dont’s about designing , you can hire one designer to design your site exactly the way you want.

You’re Not A Newbie Any more

You were, not now. Don’t think that you are a newbie. You are the one who is going to share your experience with the world and help people.

You have a great idea of making your own business sustainable.

Remember- We all have a lizard brain that always stop us when we are about to start something new, something that can challenge our comfort level.”

And if we listen to that part of the brain, we never get success.

Just stay positive and keep on acting.

No need to think about the cost, design or any other things.

Make sure you are not going to drop your idea or say “I give up now”.

We faced those stages too but taking actions and forgetting the rest was the key for us.

Following steps helped us & motivated us to get started.

Discussion- We used to discuss a lot and it really helped. Sharing thoughts bring more ideas and you at least get a point from where to begin.

You can to do the same, with your colleagues or friends or in case if you need our help you can directly contact us.

We make sure that we bring useful stuffs to you to get started and take your plan to next level.

See What Others Are Doing- Don’t copy the concept. I didn’t mean that. I simply wanna say, track your competitors that are related to your niche.

By tracking and seeing what others are doing, you will help yourself and polish your idea of how you can do better than them and take your business one step ahead. Believe me it always works.

Before we started BloggersDog, every day we track other websites to see how they are helping people and how we can make a difference by simplifying the process.

When we hit the pitch and noticed the gap, it was bingo for us.

We also maintain a WorkFlowy sheet for the websites that we analyzed every single day and still we follow pretty much same. J

WorkFloy is completely free software where you can organize the data that you analyse every day.

Like, your daily tasks, list of websites that you track, etc.

Remember, not to copy the concept of others, it will bring nothing to you. Act smartly and bring your work in action.
Now if you have made your mind cleared, all you need to do ,is to buy a domain.

Get A Domain

As I already cleared your doubts about domains, hosting services and designing, its time to register your domain for your site.

Forget the heck about getting advices from someone else. People talk shits sometimes those who don’t have idea about the website.

If you ask someone about the estimate cost of starting a website, they will blindly tell you- it will be around Rs. 5000-1000 (which is charged by a freelancer normally, those who develop websites on your behalf).

Then how much it costs???

Will discuss that part later but the first thing you need is a domain which hardly costs you around Rs. 200.

So just relax and buy a domain first.

There are various domain registrars but you can easily go with GoDaddy for registering a domain.

You can check out offer and reserve one. J

After getting a domain, what you need to do next? Coding?

Nope.

Trend Changed- No Need of Coding

Technologies like WordPress.org, Blogger, WordPress.com, Ghost have changed the online scenario today.

With entire CMS platform things have made easier and friendly for non-coders who don’t even have coding skills.

CMS is content manage system, a platform which gives you an entire interface to start your website. All you normally need is to have a valid email id.

Go to any CMS platform, just sign up and get started. It is really that simple.

To know more about CMS, watch this video by James Williamson from Lynda.com

In our case, we chose Blogger, because things were looking far easier than others (as our prime motto was blogging) and obviously it is a Google app.

We found it simple to add the custom URL in Blogger and getting things started.

It’s always good to start from the scratch when you don’t know much.

You move ahead and keep yourself updated with the technologies.

If you are a newbie (beginner), I would suggest you to start with Blogger and further take your website to next level.

Blogger is easy to use and it brings good traffic to website.

What to do next?

Start Your Blog

It’s time to explore yourself. It’s time to Blog.

Produce content consistently that has quality and put it up like a story telling.

Write extraordinary things. Be shameless, track your competitors, share strategies, cover interviews that will ultimately generate traffic for your sites.

Conclusion

Misconception always takes you one step back from executing something.

It brings hell lot of confusions in your mind when you plan something to set up for yourself.

Even if you have something unique and wanna take it further, you will be scared to start the proceedings because it is beyond your comfort zone.

You might think of putting money into something whose abcd is not known to you.

But that will only end up giving pain to your assess.

So, the best thing is not to give up and keep motivating yourself and keep discussing your concept with people around you.

This is a world where money flows. If plan A doesn’t work, no issues! You have other 25 plans to work with.

Keep your spirits up and keep acting.

And Yes…! Send away your misconceptions now!!

Just in case if you feel like I forgot to cover some doubts of yours, no issues you can let me know in the comment box. I am surely gonna resolve that. J

All the very best for making an independent world of yours.
